AK Exterior Biocide DDAC 50% is a fully approved 50% DDAC surface biocide, supplied strictly for professional use only. This product is registered and licensed for exterior surface treatment, and it is the responsibility of the end user to ensure they hold the appropriate training, competence, and knowledge required by the HSE for the application of professional-use biocides.

This is a professional-strength solution designed to act quickly on biological surface contamination commonly found on exterior hard surfaces. It is suitable for use on areas such as roofs, rendered surfaces, and ground-level hard surfaces. In most cases, a single, even application using a suitable sprayer or brush is sufficient to interrupt biological regrowth and allow the treated surface to gradually weather clean over time.

Dilution ratios should always be adjusted based on surface condition and working environment. As an industry guideline: Render and roof tiles/slates (after scraping): 1 part biocide to 25 parts water Ground-level hard surfaces: 1 part biocide to 50 parts water. Once diluted, apply evenly at an approximate coverage rate of 4m² per litre, ensuring consistent surface contact. In warmer conditions, dilution ratios can often be increased, particularly where surfaces have been pre-cleaned. For example, where loose contamination has already been removed prior to application, higher dilution ratios may be suitable as the biocide is not required to work as intensively. All dilution ratios are indicative only and may vary depending on surface porosity and contamination levels.

When working with biocides, several factors will influence dilution strength, effectiveness, and longevity. These include: Surface porosity and condition, Ambient temperature, Surrounding environment (e.g. shaded or sheltered areas) Application method. As a general guide, non-porous surfaces may not provide long-term residual performance, but treatment will still deliver an immediate biological kill, with remaining residues naturally breaking down through exposure to the elements.
